The term ‘ctf ambassadors’, ‘The Share Foundation’ or ‘TSF’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website. The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.

The website is provided only to support the specific activities of the ctf ambassadors project, it is not provided as an information source for any other purpose.

Registering as a Volunteer

If you register as a volunteer, you must use your actual name and contact details to register interest in the project. Use of fake names or pseudonyms will invalidate any participation in the project. See our privacy policy for how we use this information.

In registering, prospective volunteers are confirming that they

i)             are ordinarily resident in the UK

ii)            are over the age of 18

iii)          are not barred in any way from working with schools or young people

iv)           are able and willing to participate as a ctf ambassador on a minimum of one occasion

You may be asked to supply a DBS certificate either to us or to the schools or groups you work with before you start work

If you do not already have contact with a school, you agree to us identifying and matching you with suitable groups in virtual events or in schools based on your geographical and experience profile. However you accept that there is no guarantee that a suitable match will be found.

Acting as a volunteer

Your role as a ctf ambassador is to promote understanding of the Child Trust Fund accounts and related issues of financial capability

You agree, at all times while you are undertaking your role as a ctf ambassador, to conduct yourself in a professional and appropriate manner, and as well as complying with all relevant laws and regulations you agree to comply with any requirements and policies set out by the schools or other groups you are working with

Any behaviour that is deemed unprofessional or inappropriate will result the immediate termination of your role as an ambassador. It may further result in criminal or other litigation

Failure to comply with the rules or policies of an individual school or other party will result in an immediate termination of your role with that party and may also result in termination of your role as an ambassador   

You are not, at any time during your activities as an ambassador, an agent of The Share Foundation, nor of any financial services organisation or other third party; you are not authorised to conduct business or enter into any contracts on our behalf or that of any other such organisation

You agree that you will not conduct sales or marketing activity in relation to any specific financial product or products while interacting with schools or other parties in your role as a ctf ambassador. You are permitted to mention a company (or brand) that employs you or with which you have a business relationship but reference to such company or brand should not dominate any interaction or detract from the overall objectivity of the information you are providing.

You do not have the right to be reimbursed for any travel , administration or other costs related to your activity as a volunteer under the ctf ambassadors project unless this has been specifically agreed by us with you in advance in writing

You agree to provide feedback on each interaction or meeting you have with schools, groups or individuals . The nature of this feedback may vary in detail during the project and may be direct (i.e. email/telephone etc) initially but later on the feedback may be provided via the website. You will be informed of what is required once you start your activities. See our privacy policy for how this feedback will be used.

What we collect

Your personal information

At registration, we collect the following information which is the minimum personal information we require to operate the ctf ambassadors project:

    • Full name

    •  email address

    • Postal address

    • Telephone number

We may also store your DBS reference number and other associated information.

Furthermore, we ask you provide other information on your qualifications, experience and the level of your “financial awareness” that may be relevant to your role. The extent of the detail that you provide at this point is up to you. However, it is important that you appreciate that more extensive  disclosure better enables us to match you with schools and other interested parties and improves the overall ctf ambassador experience for all parties.

Once your work as an ambassador commences we will collect information about the schools and groups you work with, the dates of that activity and the outcomes and feedback you provide.

What we do with the information we gather

We will use your personal information solely for the ctf ambassadors, unless you expressly agree to it being used for another purpose, this may include:

  • in relation to any correspondence you have entered into with us about your role as a ctf ambassador, (whether by post, telephone or electronic means);

  • for internal record keeping;

  • to put you in contact with suitable schools and other groups to enable to you to fulfil your role as a ctf ambassador, based on your experience and geographical location in the UK;

  • to contact you about the feedback you provide on your activities as a ctf ambassador;

  • to invite you to participate in surveys or research about our work;

  • to provide you with information about the ctf ambassadors project which is relevant to your role, and information about other activities of The Share Foundation and its services which may complement that role;

  • to block website use which is contrary to our terms and conditions;

  • to analyse and improve the operation of the website;

  • to analyse and improve the work of the ctf ambassadors project;

  • We may also use and disclose information in aggregate (so that no individuals are identified) for marketing and strategic development purposes.

Controlling your personal information

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

Sometimes we contract third parties to process your information on our behalf.  We require these third parties to comply strictly with our instructions and data protection laws.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act.  (A small fee will be payable and you will be required to prove your identity with two pieces of approved identification). If you would like a copy of the information that we hold about you, please email us.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect or outdated.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
